Ahmed El Fadhel, born in March 1995 at Sultana of Oman, is a Tunisian aerospace engineer at Aerospacelab Belgium specialized in the design, development, testing and validation of laser communication systems onboard small satellites. He is also a part-time PhD candidate at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium. His scientific research is focused on studying the structure of the atmosphere of planet Mars using several small satellites (CubeSats) and employing optical and radio waves. He is a visiting researcher at the European Space Agency as part of the Mars Science Team working on the processing of Mars Express Radio Occultation data. Ahmed is also an active member of the Small Satellite Working Group at the Space Generation Advisory Council in support of the United Nations.
